The University of Colorado football team is set to begin its fall training camp in Colorado Springs as part of an ongoing partnership with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). The eight‑day session, scheduled from August 2 through August 8, will serve as the first major on‑field work for the Buffaloes ahead of the upcoming season.
A Strategic Move for the Program
Headquartered on the UCCS campus, the Buffs will conduct daily practices at Fountain‑Fort Carson High School, a venue chosen for its facilities and proximity to the city’s training resources. Each day will feature a full slate of drills, scrimmages and strategy sessions designed to sharpen the team’s cohesion before the first game.
While the practices are closed to the general public, KKTV has been granted special access and will provide live updates through its 11 News platform. The partnership not only highlights the growing relationship between the two universities but also offers fans a unique glimpse into the preparation process.
Inside the Camp Experience
The camp’s curriculum emphasizes both physical development and tactical refinement, with coaches focusing on integrating new recruits into the existing scheme. Players will benefit from the expertise of UCCS faculty and staff, who bring a strong academic and athletic background to the collaboration.
Beyond the field, the initiative underscores Colorado’s commitment to leveraging local educational institutions to enhance its athletic programs. By anchoring the camp in Colorado Springs, the Buffaloes aim to foster community ties and showcase the region’s capacity to host high‑level collegiate sports activities.
