Seniors Tim Wales, Pete Rhodes and Owen Coyne are already leading the charge during summer workouts and 7‑on‑7 matchups against some of the state’s top programs.
Summer Grind Fuels the Magicians' Ambitions
Early‑morning practices have become a staple, with daily sessions that start at six a.m. and blend competitive conditioning with weight‑room work. The Magicians have been testing themselves against local rivals such as Salem, Swampscott, Winthrop, Manchester‑Essex and St. Mary’s of Lynn, using those games to fine‑tune both offense and defense.
While the graduation of several key seniors has opened the door for new faces, junior Madden Lyons and sophomore Trent Brown are among the underclassmen stepping into larger roles. Their dedication has not gone unnoticed; Pete Rhodes has praised the rising sophomore class for their work ethic, and Tim Wales stresses that the team’s chemistry was forged during the grueling summer grind.
A Season of Transition
The coaching staff continues to experiment with formations, but the focus remains on discipline and execution. The players, aware that every rep counts, are treating each drill as an opportunity to cement their place on the roster.
