A New Coaching Chapter
Greg Sommers has been named the new head coach of the North Quincy High football program, taking over the reins for the 2026 season. His appointment comes after a 4‑7 record in the previous year, a campaign that concluded with a loss to the team’s longtime rivals from Quincy on Thanksgiving.
Among the returning standouts is All‑Scholastic linebacker Brady Craig, who has served as the team’s leading tackler for the past two seasons. Craig’s experience and leadership are expected to be pivotal as Sommers implements his vision for the program.
Looking Toward the 2026 Season
The 2026 schedule features contests against Cohasset, Oliver Ames, Taconic, Pembroke, Hanover, Scituate and Plymouth South, offering a varied slate of opponents that will test the squad early and often. In addition to the regular season, the team is slated to compete in the MIAA state tournament, while also being prepared for non‑playoff matchups that will help fine‑tune their strategy.
Community Expectations
Fans and alumni alike are hopeful that Sommers’ leadership will translate into a more competitive and cohesive unit. The community’s enthusiasm is palpable, with many eager to see the program rebound and restore its place among the region’s top high school football teams.
