Over 50 youngsters from kindergarten through eighth grade gathered for the third annual Elkins High School Football Camp, a free event that also provided lunch for every participant.
Head coach Chad Ware, together with a cadre of assistant coaches and current Tigers players, directed the sessions, stressing the need to bring together coaches from different levels to strengthen the program.
A Unified Coaching Vision
Ware explained that collaboration across youth, high school and college football circuits creates a smoother development pathway, ensuring that fundamentals are taught consistently as players progress.
The camp’s curriculum was designed to make football enjoyable, using games and drills that highlight fun while teaching basic skills, a strategy aimed at hooking the next generation of fans.
With fall practice for the Tigers set to begin on August 3, the camp marks the end of the team’s flex‑practice period, after which the squad will shift focus to preparation for the season‑opening game at home against Lincoln on August 28.
