Open Practice Signals New Direction
The University of Memphis opened the Laurie‑Walton Basketball Center to local media in July, allowing a live practice session to be observed. The invitation overlapped with the American Conference football media day held in Florida.
Head coach Penny Hardaway stated his mission is to get people to support Memphis basketball again.
