At the helm is Colby Roberts, a former coach who also serves as pastor of Thomas Hill Road Baptist Church. Roberts says his approach blends spiritual discipline with on‑field technique, citing Colossians 3:23 as a guiding verse. He has instituted a strict no‑profanity rule that applies to players and coaches alike, aiming to foster character as much as competence.

Roberts emphasizes a long‑term vision, focusing on building a culture from the ground up rather than chasing immediate wins. He acknowledges that roughly half of the squad has never played organized football, so he is simplifying instruction to cover the fundamentals before layering complexity.
The revival reflects a broader effort to embed the program within the community, using the church’s outreach network and the school’s academic resources to create continuity for future seasons.
