District‑by‑District Spotlight
The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association has announced its 2026 All‑District selections, honoring a slate of standout players from the KNIA/KRLS region.
The honors, which span multiple classifications and districts, reflect a deep pool of talent across the state's high school programs.
In the Class 4A South Central District, Indianola led the way with a series of first‑team selections, including Bryant Ritchie, Jackson Foust, Zach Benge, Asher Brueck, Bo Blake, George Blake and Dax Heimbaugh.
Norwalk also contributed to the accolades, with Rhylee Schmidt and Colton Moore earning second‑team honors in the same district.
Other local programs saw recognition as well: Joey Crabb and Brody Merema from Indianola joined the second team, while Teagan Hoekstra of Pella claimed a first‑team spot in the Class 3A Central District.
Knoxville’s Lincoln Norris and Kyler Gifford were similarly honored, the former on the first team and the latter on the second team within that classification.
Pleasantville celebrated multiple first‑team members — Brayden Kennedy, Logan Roff, Easton Cox, JJ Phillips and William Mesecher — while Ben Van Wyngarden from Pella Christian secured a second‑team berth.
PCM added Roston McCarter and Coby DeRaad to the second team, and Baxter contributed Colton Moffit and Cael Wishman as first‑team honorees.
Additional districts featured further achievements: Hayden Burdess of Baxter earned a second‑team nod in the Class 1A Central District, and Brody Borg and Jaiden Richards of Lynnville‑Sully were placed on the first team in the Southeast District.
Martensdale‑St. Marys also saw several players recognized, with Travis White, Cooper Hamilton and Colton Wight making the first team and Owen Fitzpatrick, Gavin Frantum and Waylon Weeks appearing on the second team.
The breadth of selections underscores the growing competitiveness of high school baseball in the region, with athletes from a variety of schools and classifications receiving acknowledgment.
