A Playoff Push in Hamilton Square
The Nottingham Little League 12‑year‑old All‑Stars moved one step closer to a historic championship after a 12‑0 victory over Clark in the Section 3 winner’s bracket final on Tuesday night. The game, played under the lights of Hamilton Square, showcased a team that has been firing on all cylinders.
The win extends a six‑game winning streak in which the squad has outscored its opponents 68‑4, a dominance that has not been seen in the league since the early 2010s. With the sectional final looming, the players are aware that a first crown since 2012 is within reach.
At the heart of the performance were several standout players. Christian Bianchi contributed an RBI double and a home run, while Nolan Muits, the winning pitcher, added a three‑run homer and scored three runs. Enzo DiMartino also drove in runs with an RBI double in the opening inning.
Michael Gargione’s two‑run single pushed the team’s RBI total to nine, underscoring a balanced offensive attack. Reliever Gavin Jones capped the night with a scoreless fourth inning, striking out two batters and preserving the shutout.
The community’s support has been palpable, with families and local businesses gathering in Hamilton Square to cheer on the young athletes. As the team prepares for the upcoming sectional final, the excitement is building, and the players are focused on maintaining the strong hitting and pitching that have defined their run.
