Early Commits to Seminoles

Callum Early announced his commitment to Florida State University on Monday, electing to join the ACC program after a promising freshman campaign at Liberty University.

During his rookie year with the Flames, Early appeared in 33 games, starting 28 and posting a .295 batting average while reaching a .837 OPS. He logged 131 plate appearances, hitting six doubles and two home runs, driving in 15 runs and scoring 23, while drawing 22 walks and striking out 25 times. Defensively he turned in a .972 fielding percentage across 107 total chances at various infield positions.

The 6‑foot, 190‑pound left‑hander hails from Midlothian, Virginia, where he starred at James River High School before his college stint at Liberty and a brief spell at Texas.

Early’s brother, Connelly Early, is a pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization, giving the Seminoles an added narrative angle as they welcome a player with a strong baseball pedigree.

Coaches expect his blend of power, patience and versatility to contribute immediately to the team’s depth, especially as the program looks to maintain its competitive edge in the upcoming season.
