The festival is backed by a coalition that includes the National Hockey League, the Vancouver Canucks, Bauer Hockey and the Ice Hockey Association of India. Their combined support underscores a shared commitment to developing talent and infrastructure in a country where hockey is gaining momentum.
A highlight of the program is a guest coaching session led by Harry Mahesh, a member of the Abbotsford Canucks' Calder Cup championship‑winning staff. Mahesh will conduct player development workshops that aim to translate North American coaching philosophies into practical tools for Indian athletes and coaches.
Community engagement and education
In addition to on‑ice training, the schedule features a Try Hockey Activation on August 1, inviting newcomers to experience the sport firsthand, followed by a Coaching & Player Development Day on August 2. These community‑focused components reflect the festival’s broader goal of expanding participation beyond elite competition.
