A Community‑Driven Fundraiser
The University of North Carolina’s athletic department is set to stage its fifth annual Dribble For Victory Over Cancer on September 13, transforming the campus into a vibrant arena of hope.
The initiative, organized by Carolina Athletics in collaboration with the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) and the V Foundation for Cancer Research, aims to channel community energy into a tangible force for pediatric cancer research.
How the Event Works
Participants of all ages will navigate a short, on‑campus course while dribbling a basketball, turning each bounce into a fundraising opportunity that supports families battling the disease.
Partnerships Driving Impact
The collaboration with PCRF and the V Foundation brings together expertise and resources to ensure that every dollar raised translates into cutting‑edge research and clinical trials.
All proceeds will be directed to the UNC Children’s Research Institute, with grant allocations overseen by the Dick Vitale Pediatric Cancer Research Fund, a program established under the V Foundation’s umbrella.
The gathering also offers a unique chance to meet Tar Heel basketball players and coaches, creating personal connections that amplify the message of solidarity with children undergoing treatment.
Beyond the financial impact, the event underscores a broader cultural shift toward proactive community involvement in health advocacy, highlighting the power of sport to drive social change.
