Harding University's baseball program has once again been honored with the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2025‑26 academic year, underscoring a sustained commitment to scholarly achievement on the diamond.
The accolade, which recognizes teams that post a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, highlighted Harding's program‑high team GPA of 3.47, the highest ever recorded for the Bisons.
A Record of Consecutive Excellence
This marks the eleventh straight year the Bisons have earned the distinction, placing them among only five Division II programs to achieve the honor in each of the award's eleven years of existence.
The academic rigor extends beyond the team metric, with 83 percent of the roster maintaining a 3.0 GPA or better and a third of the squad graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Equally notable is the program's consistency, having logged 30 consecutive semesters with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, a streak that reflects both coaching stability and student‑athlete dedication.
Sixty percent of the Bisons posted a GPA of 3.5 or higher, underscoring a depth of academic talent that rivals the team's competitive edge.
The award not only celebrates past performance but also sets a benchmark for future teams, reinforcing Harding's identity as a program where athletic ambition and academic excellence are inseparable.
