Jordan Gainey, the former Tennessee guard, has officially signed a professional contract with KK Cedevita Olimpija, the dominant force in the Slovenian First League.
The move follows a productive stint with Cedevita Junior in the Croatian league, where Gainey averaged 14 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists over 31 games.
Cedevita Olimpija’s head coach, Zvezdan Mitrović, highlighted the guard’s talent and untapped potential, noting that his experience on the court could accelerate the team’s already impressive roster.
The Slovenian club has secured six consecutive titles, establishing itself as a perennial powerhouse. Gainey will look to add his own chapter to that legacy.
Gainey’s college career culminated with two seasons at the University of Tennessee after transferring from USC Upstate. In the 2024‑25 campaign he posted 11.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, while his performances in the SEC Tournament — including a 24‑point effort in the championship and 16 points in a Sweet 16 victory over Kentucky — underscored his clutch ability.
The signing marks a strategic step for both player and club, as Gainey brings a blend of scoring, playmaking and postseason poise to a league that continues to attract international talent.
