The Texas Longhorns baseball program revealed its 2026 season awards on Tuesday, highlighting a standout freshman who captured the Brooks Kieschnick Team MVP award.
A Freshman Milestone
Anthony Pack Jr., a true freshman, led the squad with a .355 batting average, stole 21 bases and drove in 56 runs while scoring 61 times. His all‑around performance marked the first time a freshman has been selected MVP by the team’s players since Omar Quintanilla in 2001.
The awards also recognized pitching excellence, with Dylan Volantis earning the Greg Swindell Pitcher of the Year honor after posting a 10‑2 record, a 2.08 ERA and 135 strikeouts. Senior right‑hander Luke Harrison contributed a 6‑4 record and provided clubhouse leadership.
Outfielder Aiden Robbins, who transferred from Seton Hall, tied for third place in school history with 24 home runs, while catcher Carson Tinney posted a .992 fielding percentage, anchoring the defense.
The Longhorns finished the season at 46‑15, securing second place in the Southeastern Conference and earning a berth in the College World Series. Their run ended with a 2‑0 loss to Georgia, but the campaign is viewed as a strong foundation for future seasons.
