Iowa Hawkeyes Host Annual Kids’ Day at Kinnick Stadium

Free community event features open practice, autograph sessions, and the Kid Captain program

Kids' Day at Kinnick

The University of Iowa football team will hold its annual Kids' Day at Kinnick Stadium on August 15, offering fans a chance to watch an open practice, meet players, and enjoy a variety of activities designed for children.

Gates open at 10 a.m., with the practice scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.; autograph signings are planned for roughly 10:30 a.m., giving youngsters a brief but memorable encounter with the Hawkeyes.

The 2026 Kid Captain program will feature twelve current and former patients from UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital, who will join the team on the field for photos and a special role during the practice.

The event is presented by UI Health Care and supported by sponsors including Alliant Energy, Delta Dental of Iowa, Chase Bank, Chick‑fil‑A, and Wimmer’s Meats, all of which help cover the cost of free admission and parking for attendees.

Cashless concession stands will be open throughout the day, accepting only debit or credit cards, while Kinnick’s clear‑bag policy will be enforced to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.

Looking ahead, the Hawkeyes are set to open the 2026 season against Northern Illinois on September 5, and tickets for five home games this fall are already available to the public.
