The latest preseason All-SEC team released by USA TODAY Sports highlights a strong showing for the Georgia Bulldogs, with three of their players earning spots on the first‑team list.
Drew Bobo, KJ Bolden and Ellis Robinson were recognized among the conference’s top prospects, underscoring the program’s depth on both sides of the ball.
Texas, meanwhile, topped the All-SEC selections with five honorees and is projected to finish first in the SEC, while Georgia is slated to finish second in the upcoming season.
A rivalry without a scheduled meeting
Despite the competitive outlook, the Bulldogs and the Longhorns will not face each other during the 2026 college football season. Georgia, however, maintains a perfect 3‑0 record against Texas since the Longhorns entered the SEC, highlighted by an overtime victory in the 2024 SEC championship.
The preseason list also omitted several notable Georgia contributors, including Gunner Stockton, Nate Frazier, Lawson Luckie and Earnest Greene, while defensive standouts such as Elijah Griffin, Raylen Wilson, Chris Cole and Peyton Woodring were similarly left off the All‑SEC roster.
These selections set the stage for a season where both programs will aim to translate early accolades into on‑field dominance, even as they navigate separate paths toward the conference crown.
