Trey Wright has emerged as one of the most coveted prospects in the 2026 class, not only for his arm strength but also for his athleticism on the hardwood.
A Dual‑Sport Decision in the Making
In April, Wright stepped onto Clemson’s campus for his first official visit, working out in front of head coach Dabo Swinney and offensive coordinator Chad Morris. The session culminated in a formal offer on June 21, signaling the university’s intent to utilize him in both football and basketball.
The offer places Wright among a small group of athletes being recruited to compete at the highest level in two sports, a path that mirrors recent successes at the collegiate level.
Wright, however, is in no hurry to decide. He has emphasized building genuine connections with coaches and delivering a standout senior season for his high school team, a strategy that could shape his final choice.
Offers have also arrived from powerhouses such as Florida State, Arizona, Michigan and many others, each adding to the growing list of suitors.
Last season, he was named unanimous District 5‑AAAAA MVP after throwing for over 4,000 yards and 43 touchdowns, a testament to his dual‑sport potential.
