Northern Michigan Wildcats Unveil 2026‑27 Men’s Basketball Schedule

A demanding non‑conference slate and GLIAC tournament run await the program

Northern Michigan University has officially released its 2026‑27 men’s basketball schedule, a slate that promises both tests and opportunities for the Wildcats as they look to build on the momentum of a historic 2025‑26 campaign.

Opening Stretch

The season will open with a three‑game road trip to Wisconsin Dells, where the Wildcats will contest the Midwest Tip‑Off Challenge against Central Oklahoma, Harding and Lincoln Memorial.

After the Tip‑Off Challenge, the team returns to Wisconsin Dells for four additional games spread over two weekends before heading into a busy November that includes contests with Missouri‑St. Louis, Winona State, St. Cloud State and Minnesota State Mankato, culminating in a road test at Minnesota Duluth.

December brings the first taste of GLIAC play, with the Wildcats traveling to face Roosevelt and Parkside on the road, while the final two non‑conference games of the month are slated for Quincy, Illinois, against Quincy and Southwest Baptist.

The holiday break ends with a homecoming against Davenport in Grand Rapids and a showdown with Ferris State, setting the stage for the first scheduled home game of the season on Jan. 7 against rival Michigan Tech.

January continues with a series of road trips to Purdue Northwest and Grand Valley State, followed by home contests against Ferris State and Davenport, while the Wildcats also host Wayne State, Lake Superior State and Saginaw Valley State later in the month.

February sees the Wildcats on the road again, visiting Saginaw Valley State and Lake Superior State before returning home to host Grand Valley State and Purdue Northwest, and they will also travel to Houghton to meet the Huskies and downstate to take on the Wayne State Warriors.

GLIAC Tournament Outlook

The regular season will wrap up with home games against Parkside and Roosevelt, after which the GLIAC Tournament will begin on March 3, with semifinals on March 6 and the championship game on March 7.
