Road‑Heavy Opening
Georgetown University’s field hockey program unveiled its 2026 slate this week, a schedule that blends a demanding early road stretch with a series of home fixtures at the historic Kehoe Field. The announcement was made public by senior forward Christy Banks, who will play a pivotal role in the upcoming season.
The first four weekends will take the Hoyas from the Tar Heel State to the Commonwealth, beginning with a showdown against Davidson and Appalachian State in North Carolina, followed by contests at Towson and Lock Haven, then a trip to Richmond and William & Mary in Virginia.
Each of those away games is scheduled for consecutive weekends, testing the team’s depth early on and giving the coaching staff a chance to fine‑tune strategies against a variety of opponents.
Home Opener and Key Matchups
The season’s first home game arrives on September 15 when Providence visits the campus, kicking off a sequence that will see the team host Temple for the BIG EAST opener on September 18 and Rider two days later. Later in the month, the Hoyas will travel to Philadelphia to face Villanova and Drexel, then return to the BIG EAST with a league matchup at Liberty on October 9.
The schedule also includes a senior day celebration against UConn on October 16, a final home game against Old Dominion on October 30, and several road trips to Philadelphia, Delaware and other regional venues that will punctuate the regular season.
