Shamir Sterlin, a sophomore safety for Florida International University’s football program, has been named to the AFCA Allstate Good Works Team, a distinction that celebrates athletes who excel in community service, academics, and on‑field performance.

The honor marks the second consecutive year that Sterlin has received this recognition, underscoring a sustained commitment to making a positive impact off the field.
Sterlin’s volunteer work spans several local initiatives. He leads neighborhood clean‑ups and recycling drives that support cancer research, coaches youth at Treasure Coast High School, and serves as a youth leader with END It, where he mentors children through faith‑based activities. His regular contributions to Grace Way Village and JC Missions in Fort Pierce further illustrate his hands‑on approach to community engagement.
Athletic Accolades and Academic Promise
On the gridiron, Sterlin appeared in all 12 games during the 2025 season, tallying 65 tackles, two interceptions and six pass breakups. His performances earned him preseason honors on both the Athlon Sports First Team All‑CUSA and the Phil Steele Second Team All‑CUSA, and he also secured a spot on the CUSA Preseason Watch List.
