The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) is gearing up for another exciting chapter in its girls soccer hierarchy, as the four teams that captured state titles in the 2025 season prepare to defend their crowns in 2026.
Greenwich, Masuk, Foran and Morgan each lifted their respective championship trophies last year, marking the first time each program reached the pinnacle of its division. Their victories placed them in Class LL, L, M and S respectively, and the conference has confirmed that all four will remain in the same divisions for the upcoming campaign.
Class LL, the premier tier, comprises 40 programs with enrollments of at least 604 athletes, while Class L includes 38 teams with participant numbers ranging from 365 to 603. Class M, also 38 teams strong, serves schools with enrollments between 261 and 364, and Class S, the deepest field with 45 squads, gathers programs with up to 260 students.
Season Schedule
The regular season is slated to begin on September 8 and will run through November 2, giving each program a compact window to fine‑tune tactics and chemistry.
Following the regular slate, the CIAC tournament will kick off on November 4 and culminate over two days, November 21‑22, when the final champions will be crowned.
With the same competitive balance preserved, coaches and players alike are already mapping out strategies to repeat last year’s success, promising another season of high‑stakes matchups and memorable moments across the state.
