The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference’s girls soccer scene is set for another season of familiar rivalries, as the four teams that lifted the 2025 division trophies prepare to defend their crowns in 2026.
Greenwich, Masuk, Foran and Morgan each captured a championship in their respective classes last year, and the CIAC has confirmed that they will remain in the same divisions for the upcoming campaign.
The regular schedule kicks off on September 8 and will wrap up on November 2, giving teams just over a month to fine‑tune before the postseason begins.
Postseason play will run from November 4 through the weekend of November 21‑22, a timeline that promises tightly contested matches across all divisions.
Class Structure and Enrollment
Class LL, the premier division, brings together 40 programs that each field at least 604 players, reflecting the state’s largest schools. Class L contains 38 teams with enrollments between 365 and 603, while Class M holds another 38 squads with 261‑364 participants. The smallest division, Class S, accommodates 45 teams, all of which have 260 or fewer athletes.
These enrollment thresholds shape the competitive balance, ensuring that schools of similar size compete against one another, and they set the stage for the defending champions to face fresh obstacles as they attempt to repeat.
