Historically, Boston College leads the all‑time series 26‑22, but UMass has claimed four straight victories, including a dramatic 76‑74 win in the Hall of Fame Classic at the MassMutual Center in Springfield on Dec. 10, 2025. The Minutemen have also topped the Eagles in two of their three meetings at the TD Garden, adding extra intrigue to the upcoming clash.
UMass coach Frank Martin expressed enthusiasm about bringing the program back to the TD Garden, stating, “Playing in Boston is always special, and our fans are excited to see our team compete on such a storied stage.” Boston College’s newly appointed head coach Luke Murray echoed the sentiment, adding, “We’re thrilled to bring the basketball program back to the Garden and to give our fans a memorable experience.”
