Mike Doyle Appointed Head Coach of Delaware Valley Men’s Basketball

Former La Salle Assistant Brings Experience and Vision to the Aggies

Mike Doyle has been named the new head coach of the Delaware Valley University men's basketball program, taking over from Muhamadou Kaba, who stepped down to join the staff at Lafayette College.

A New Era for Delaware Valley Basketball

Doyle arrives after a six‑year stint at La Salle University, where he progressed from graduate assistant to Director of Basketball Operations. In that role he oversaw scouting, recruiting, player development and the day‑to‑day logistics of the program, helping the Explorers secure two MAC Freedom postseason appearances and a historic 2024‑25 season that included a conference championship and an NCAA Tournament berth.

Dave Duda, Delaware Valley's Executive Director of Athletics, praised Doyle's basketball pedigree and leadership, saying the university is excited to welcome a coach whose vision aligns with the program’s aspirations.

Kaba, who guided the Aggies to 60 victories and a MAC Freedom Championship, expressed gratitude for his time at Delaware Valley and looks forward to his new role at Lafayette, where he will serve as an assistant coach.

In his first public remarks, Doyle thanked the Delaware Valley community for the opportunity, emphasizing a commitment to player growth, competitive excellence and fostering a culture of accountability.

A summa cum laude graduate of Cabrini University, Doyle earned a master’s degree in education from La Salle in 2021 and was a four‑year team captain who earned CSAC All‑Academic and All‑Sportsmanship honors.

Beyond the locker room, Doyle also directs the Mike Doyle Jr. Basketball Camp, coordinating all operational aspects, and he plans to leverage that experience to enrich the university’s recruiting reach and community engagement.
