Award Marks Fourth Straight Academic Honor for Continentals
On Wednesday, July 22, Sports Attack presented the 2025‑26 American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award to Hamilton College, celebrating the program’s fourth consecutive year of meeting the association’s rigorous standards. The honor is reserved for teams that maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, underscoring the Continentals’ commitment to balancing athletics and scholarship.
Head Coach Tim Byrnes, now in his fourth year leading the squad, guided the team to a 6‑6 record within the NESCAC West Division, a performance that earned the Continentals a berth in the 2026 NESCAC Quarterfinal Series. The season’s on‑field results were complemented by a strong academic showing, with 13 student‑athletes earning spots on the 2026 NESCAC Spring All‑Academic Team.
The recognition reflects a broader culture at Hamilton where competitive athletics and high academic standards coexist. By securing the award for the fourth straight year, the program sets a benchmark for other collegiate baseball teams striving to excel in both arenas.
