A packed grid sets the stage for drama
The NASCAR Brickyard Weekend in Indianapolis promises two high‑stakes races that will kick off the 2026 season with a bang. Full entry lists have been released for both the Craftsman Truck Series and the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, each boasting 38 drivers. While the theoretical field is deep, only 36 trucks will actually make the green flag on Friday night at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, guaranteeing a scramble for the remaining spots.
The centerpiece of Friday’s action is the TSport 200, presented by Warn Industries, a 200‑lap battle that will feature stage breaks at laps 60 and 120. Defending race winner Layne Riggs returns in the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford, while championship hopefuls such as Ty Majeski, Christian Eckes and Kaden Honeycutt are among the competitors. Indiana native Conor Daly is also on the roster, adding local flavor to the event.
Adding to the excitement, 18‑year‑old Gavan Boschele will make his Truck Series debut in the No. 1 Tricon Garage Toyota, while a host of other young talents look to make an impact. The weekend’s schedule also includes the Pennzoil 250 on Saturday, a 100‑lap contest around the 2.5‑mile oval that will see drivers like Ross Chastain and Chase Elliott battling for JR Motorsports, and a deep field of title contenders including Justin Allgaier, Austin Hill, Sammy Smith, Brandon Jones, Jesse Love, Sam Mayer and Ryan Sieg.
With qualifying determining the starting order for both races, teams are intensifying their efforts to secure favorable positions. The tight pack of 38 entries means that even a minor misstep can push a driver out of the main event, setting the tone for a season that will culminate in Sunday’s Brickyard 400 for the Cup Series.
