A Season to Remember
The Marblehead Youth Soccer G6 Boys Marauders concluded their regular campaign with a 7‑1 record, placing them at the top of the Essex County Youth Soccer Association standings.
Their only loss came in the final league match, but the setback did little to dampen the excitement heading into the district tournament.
Seeded first, the Marauders crushed the Danvers Dynamos 5‑1 in the semifinals, setting up a championship clash with Wilmington.
In a dramatic final decided by a penalty shootout, the Marauders emerged victorious, capturing the ECYSA title and earning a berth in the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions.
State Tournament Journey
The team opened pool play with a 2‑2 tie against Marshfield before dropping matches to Amherst and Natick.
Despite the early exit, the Marauders finished among the top twelve teams in the state for the 2026 season, a reflection of their strong competition.
Coach Mark Philip praised the squad’s hard work and heart, emphasizing that representing Marblehead on the state stage is a rare and proud accomplishment.
