A 10-year-old girl from Kansas has died just days after a car crash that occurred while her family was en route to a soccer tournament in Nashville.

Annie Koester, a student at St. Ann Catholic School, was traveling with her parents and siblings on July 15 when their vehicle was involved in a collision on a highway outside the city.
She suffered severe injuries and was placed on life support, but despite the best efforts of medical staff, she succumbed to her wounds shortly thereafter.
The crash has left a void in the tight-knit community that had rallied around the Koester family, known for their active involvement in local youth sports.
Friends, neighbors and fellow parents have organized prayer vigils and fundraisers to support the family during this unimaginable loss, while school officials have offered counseling services to students coping with the tragedy.
