The event was coordinated by Serving Good Vibes, a local nonprofit that partnered with Sundays and The Flats to bring the block party to life. Hunter Romero, the organization’s production and media manager, explained that the goal was to recreate the electric vibe of cities where soccer is a daily ritual, even though the United States had been eliminated earlier in the tournament.
Families and friends arrived with coolers, lawn chairs and homemade snacks, turning the streets into a patchwork of team colors. Bijan Delcambre, a longtime Argentina fan, said he was drawn by the chance to share the experience with fellow supporters, while his brother Wolfgang Delcambre switched allegiance to Spain after Portugal’s exit, illustrating the fluid loyalty that defines World Cup fandom.
When the final whistle blew, the crowd erupted as Ferran Torres struck the decisive goal in the 106th minute, sealing a 1‑0 victory for Spain.
