Iowa State Cyclones have secured a highly anticipated recruiting double-coup, committing four-star forwards Jack Kohnen and Donovan Davis to the 2027 class, a move that could reshape the program’s national trajectory.

Both players spent the spring on the AAU circuit with Team Herro, a squad that finished the Elite Youth Basketball League season with a 13-2 record, underscoring the competitiveness of their schedule.
Kohnen posted a 10.4-point, 3.5-rebound, 2.9-assist line across the EYBL, while Davis contributed 9.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists, highlighting their all-around impact.
Peach Jam Showcase
At the Peach Jam tournament, Kohnen elevated his game to 14.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest, punctuated by a 35-point explosion that caught the attention of scouts nationwide.
Davis matched the intensity with a 13.6-point, 6.0-rebound, 3.3-assist average, culminating in a 20-point outing that served as his season high.
Kohnen’s shooting accuracy was evident as he drained 14 three-pointers over seven games, a testament to his perimeter threat and ability to stretch defenses.
Championship Ambitions
Both recruits have signaled that their senior seasons are geared toward leading their respective high-school programs to state titles, a stepping stone they hope will translate into Iowa State’s first-ever national championship.
