Section V’s Strong Showing
Four Section V programs — Aquinas, Our Lady of Mercy, Pittsford Sutherland and Webster Schroeder — accounted for fourteen of the honorees, underscoring the section’s depth and competitive balance.
Aquinas, the Class AAA champion, contributed two selections, while Our Lady of Mercy, the Class A champion, also earned a pair of spots. Pittsford Sutherland, the Class AA‑2 runner‑up, and Webster Schroeder, the Class AA‑1 champion, each placed two players on the list.
MVP and First‑Team Honors
Emerson Wandtke of Our Lady of Mercy emerged as the only first‑team selection and was crowned MVP of the Class A section tournament. Her accolades also include a place on the All‑Greater Rochester first team, cementing her status as one of the region’s top talents.
The all‑state teams not only celebrate individual excellence but also highlight the growing prominence of Section V programs in the statewide basketball landscape, setting the stage for an exciting upcoming season.
