The University of Evansville’s Purple Aces have earned a spot in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament after finishing fifth in the league standings.
Opening Round Preview
Their first test will come on May 20 at 11:00 a.m., when they meet Southern Illinois in the tournament’s opening game.
Coach Wes Carroll, who guided the team to a 13-11 overall record in the MVC, emphasized the experience of ten freshmen and sophomores who form the core of the lineup.
The tournament follows a double-elimination format, meaning the Aces must win two games to advance, but a single loss will not end their championship hopes.
Fans and alumni are eager to see how the young roster will perform on the regional stage, with the team’s recent surge sparking optimism across the campus.
