Bluefield State University’s football program is entering the new season with modest expectations, as analysts project a ninth‑place finish in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association preseason poll.
Wiley’s preseason honor
Wide receiver Brandon Wiley, who led the CIAA with 750 receiving yards last year, has been named to the CIAA Preseason Team, highlighting his status as one of the conference’s top offensive threats.
Opening slate and key matchups
The Big Blue will open the campaign on the road at Tusculum University on August 27, travel to face Concord University on September 5 in the Battle of the Blueridge, and then host Livingstone College for their home opener on September 12. That September 12 game will also double as Code Blue and Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day.
Coach and the athletic department hope the early schedule will provide momentum as the team looks to climb the conference standings.
