A Recruit's Journey
Five-star forward Nation Williams, a 6-foot-2 standout from Las Vegas' Centennial High School, has trimmed her list to five programs as she weighs her college destination. Iowa, Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame and UCLA remain the finalists after she pared down a initial pool of ten candidates.
Williams took an official visit to Iowa and was present for the Hawkeyes' 62-44 Senior Day victory over Michigan last February, a game in which teammates Ava Heiden and Hannah Stuelke combined for 35 points. The performance underscored her interest in the program and highlighted the depth of talent surrounding her.
Ranked No. 11 nationally by 247Sports and positioned as the second-best power forward in the country, Williams also appears at No. 14 on ESPN's list and No. 13 on Rivals. Across the major composite rankings she is rated a five-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports.
Beyond high school, Williams recently captured a 2026 FIBA U17 Women's World Cup title with USA Basketball, contributing 10 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in the championship victory over Spain. The triumph added an international spotlight to her already impressive résumé.
With the recruitment timeline approaching a critical juncture, Williams is expected to announce her commitment later this year, a decision that will shape the next chapter for both her career and the programs vying for her talent.
