Weather Wipes Out Qualifying at North Wilkesboro
A sudden bout of inclement weather rolled over North Wilkesboro Speedway on Saturday, forcing officials to cancel the scheduled NASCAR Cup Series qualifying session.
Instead of a timed run, series officials conducted a 50‑minute practice session, using the limited track time to give teams a final chance to prepare before the green flag.
Lineup Set by Rule Book
With qualifying wiped out, NASCAR turned to its Rule Book to set the starting lineup for Sunday night’s Window World 450, a decision that placed Ryan Blaney at the head of the field.
Blaney will start the race in the No. 12 Team Penske Ford, leading a front row that also features Ty Gibbs alongside him.
Ross Chastain, who was originally slated to run 13th, will have to serve a pass‑through penalty after three failed pre‑race inspection attempts, dropping him to the rear of the field.
The race is slated to begin at 7 p.m. Eastern Time and will be televised across multiple platforms, including TNT Sports, truTV, HBO Max, PRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
A total of 37 drivers are entered for the event, underscoring the competitive depth of the field despite the weather‑induced shuffle.
