The race, part of the Non‑Wing Micro class, also saw Brexton win the seventh heat before finishing sixth in the feature event, a performance that underscored his rapid progress after years of competition that began at age six and included 48 wins across multiple divisions last year.
His mother, Samantha Busch, shared an emotional Instagram post that praised her son’s resilience while acknowledging the deep grief that still shadows the family’s journey.
Kyle Busch died on May 21 from complications of sepsis related to bacterial pneumonia, a loss that reverberated throughout the racing community and set the stage for the upcoming Kyle Busch Invitational in August at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston‑Salem, North Carolina, where Legends cars and Bandoleros will compete.
Later this month, Brexton will conclude his Legends season at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a venue that will host the final chapter of his current campaign and further cement his place in a sport still shaped by his father’s legacy.
