Palestine Independent School District announced this week that Ty Robinson will take the helm of its varsity football program, succeeding James Reyes, who has transitioned to the role of athletic director.
A Proven Track Record
Robinson most recently guided Crawford Independent School District to a 10‑2 record in the latest season, underscoring his ability to produce competitive teams in a short span.
Before his stint at Crawford, he served as defensive coordinator at Palestine ISD from 2010 through 2013, gaining intimate knowledge of the district’s culture and talent pool.
Nine Seasons of Excellence at Woodville
Robinson spent nine years at Woodville Independent School District, compiling an 80‑24 record and steering the team to a state championship appearance in 2024, a feat that cemented his reputation as a developmental coach.
His experience at both a neighboring district and a school with a deep playoff tradition positions him to bring fresh strategies while honoring the community’s football heritage.
Looking Ahead
District officials expressed confidence that Robinson’s blend of local insight and proven success will revitalize the program as it aims for greater regional and state contention in the coming seasons.
