Zoe Oller Earns MVP Honors
Zoe Oller, a senior at Father McGivney High School, has been crowned the Intelligencer’s MVP for small‑school girls basketball, a testament to a season that blended scoring prowess with relentless defense.
She averaged 9.8 points per game while pulling down 5.0 rebounds, but her impact extended far beyond the box score. Oller’s ability to operate both inside and outside the paint allowed her to stretch defenses, create mismatches and anchor a unit that finished the year with a 28‑7 record.
From Bench to Star
The team’s triumphs included capturing the Gateway Metro Conference championship and securing a regional title after winning the Litchfield Regional and advancing to the sectional championship game.
Oller’s evolution was evident throughout the campaign. From a bench role as a freshman, she gradually assumed larger responsibilities, culminating in a first‑team all‑Gateway Metro Conference selection and a reputation as the most versatile player on the floor.
A standout performance came in a pivotal matchup where she erupted for 20 points, forced seven steals and helped seal a victory that underscored her growing influence. Her offseason work, which emphasized strength and skill development, paid dividends in a senior season that will be remembered as a turning point for the program.
