Director of Athletics John David Wicker took the podium to stress the heightened level of competition within the Pac‑12 and to outline the program’s championship ambition. “We’re stepping onto a bigger stage,” Wicker said, “and our goal is clear: contend for titles and bring a new standard of excellence to college football.”
Head coach Sean Lewis echoed that sentiment, pointing to the momentum built during a nine‑win campaign in 2025. He highlighted the team’s perfect 6‑0 home record, the first undefeated home stretch since 1996, and the 187‑41 point differential at Snapdragon Stadium as evidence of progress.
The Aztecs’ statistical surge was on full display. In 2025 they posted a 9‑4 overall record, a dramatic turnaround from a 3‑9 showing the previous year, and they outscored opponents 187‑41 on their home field. Lewis said those numbers are a foundation for the work ahead.
Fans can now purchase season tickets for the 2026 campaign, with pricing reduced to improve accessibility. Single‑game tickets start at $23, inclusive of all fees, making attendance at Snapdragon Stadium more affordable than ever.
The Pac‑12 Championship game is slated for Friday, December 4, and will be hosted by the team that finishes the conference schedule with the best record. SDSU will learn its path to that game as the season unfolds, but the early outlook is decidedly optimistic.
