A New Chapter
Brad Anderson, a veteran broadcaster with deep roots in the Upper Midwest, has been named the new voice of Concordia athletics, taking over from longtime announcer Larry Knutson who retired earlier this spring.
A 1998 graduate of Concordia College, Anderson has spent the past two decades honing his craft at KZTK radio in Casselton, North Dakota, where he serves as sports director and morning show host, as well as providing play‑by‑play commentary for the North Dakota State College of Science football and basketball teams.
His voice has also become familiar to fans of the Fargo Force, where he has been a primary announcer since 2015, and he has called high school games across the region, including matches featuring Central Cass, Northern Cass, Maple River and Kindred.
Anderson’s work earned him the 2017 North Dakota Sportscaster of the Year award and placed him as a finalist for the honor in six of the past ten years, underscoring a consistency that the university hopes will translate into a seamless transition for listeners and viewers.
Starting this season, Anderson will deliver play‑by‑play coverage of all ten Concordia football games on WDAY radio, and he will also stream live video broadcasts of every home men’s and women’s basketball game, bringing a fresh but experienced perspective to the university’s athletic programming.
