The Providence Journal has released its 2026 All‑State Baseball First and Second Teams, honoring the standout players who defined the high school season across Rhode Island.
First Team Spotlight
Among the first‑team selections, junior catcher Brady Collins of La Salle stood out by leading his squad in several offensive categories, while the Crain brothers — Cullen and Mason — from Bishop Hendricken played pivotal roles in securing a third consecutive state championship, with Mason also emerging as a reliable relief pitcher. Elan Santana of Cranston West posted a batting average and on‑base percentage above .500, and Parker Boyd of Bishop Hendricken anchored the lineup as leadoff hitter and center‑fielder, helping the team to another championship. East Providence’s Gavin Palombo began the season in the Division II finals and finished in the Division I finals, while Axel Da Silva of La Salle emerged as a breakout hitter, topping his team in average and doubles. Max Correiro of East Providence led his team in batting, homers, RBIs and slugging, and Will Haggerty of Moses Brown captured both the Gatorade Player of the Year and the Journal’s Baseball Player of the Year honors. Narragansett’s Zayden Kent earned the Division II Cy Young Award for his strikeout prowess, Brayden Menard of Moses Brown topped Division I with a 1.00 ERA and 58 strikeouts, and Lincoln’s Caden Oldham was named Division I Player of the Year after posting a .500/.640/.806 slash line.
Second Team Notables
