Exeter High School’s baseball squad turned a rocky start into a comeback victory on Tuesday, edging Pinkerton Academy 8-6 in extra innings.

A rally for the ages

Brennan Schimoler sparked the rally with a decisive RBI triple in the eighth inning, then took the mound to finish the game, striking out two batters to seal the win.

Pinkerton opened the scoring with a four‑run first inning, but Exeter answered with a five‑run second to level the contest.

The teams exchanged single runs in the fourth, leaving the score tied at 6‑6 and sending the game into extra innings.

John Bakker’s strikeout of Landin Moore forced the game into the extra frame, where Exeter finally pulled ahead.
