Dahlen’s NHL trajectory began when the Ottawa Senators selected him in the second round of the 2016 draft, a move that set the stage for a journey across North America and Europe.
After a brief stint with the Vancouver Canucks organization, he honed his game with the Utica Comets, the AHL affiliate, before a mid‑season trade brought him to the Sharks in 2019.
His time in San Jose got off to a modest start, with seven appearances for the Barracuda, the team’s AHL club, before he returned to Sweden for a two‑year period.
The 2021‑22 season marked his first NHL games in over a decade, a short but symbolic return that ended with a decision to head back to Europe.
