USA Basketball announced a landmark coaching staff for the 2027 Basketball World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, appointing Erik Spoelstra as head coach and naming three assistants who will work under his direction.

Mark Daigneault joins the staff after more than ten years removed from active USA Basketball work, having previously served as a video coordinator; he brings a fresh analytical perspective to the bench.
J.B. Bickerstaff, making his debut with the national program, adds a developmental edge, while Mark Few returns to the fold after having assisted Spoelstra during the last Olympic cycle.
Grant Hill, the managing director of the USA Basketball Men’s National Team, praised the blend of experience and new talent, noting that continuity and collaboration will be the cornerstone of the upcoming campaigns.
The appointments were ratified by USA Basketball’s Board of Directors on Thursday, underscoring the organization’s confidence in the selected group to represent the United States on the world stage.
