LSU unveils a new slate of in-state non-conference matchups
LSU football has laid out a four-year schedule that will see the Tigers face four different opponents from within Louisiana over the next four seasons, a move that underscores the program’s commitment to regional rivalries and non-conference diversity.
The first of those contests is slated for August 28, 2027, when LSU travels to take on Northwestern State in a non-conference showdown that will test both teams early in the season.
Two years later, the Tigers will host both Louisiana-Monroe and Southern in 2028, with the game against Southern marking the second meeting between the programs and the first since 2022, adding a layer of historic significance to the contest.
The schedule extends into 2030, when Tulane will make its first trip to Tiger Stadium since 2009, meeting LSU in the season‑opening game on August 31, 2030, a date that promises a fresh chapter in the longstanding Louisiana rivalry.
