Spartans Eye Four-Star Center Kamsi Awaka
Michigan State’s basketball program is reportedly courting Kamsi Awaka, a 6‑foot‑9 center who emerged as one of the most coveted prospects in the 2027 class.
Awaka, a native of New Jersey, carries a 97.63 rating in the 247Sports composite and is listed as the ninth-best center and the fifty-second overall recruit nationally.
The Spartans have been scouting the prospect for some time, attending the recent event where he impressed evaluators, though a formal scholarship offer has yet to materialize.
His recruitment board already includes high-profile programs such as Arizona, UConn, Maryland, Georgia Tech, High Point, Fordham, Iona and Rhode Island, giving him a wide array of options as he narrows his focus.
For Michigan State, the pursuit of Awaka underscores a strategy of targeting elite front-court talent early, aiming to shape a class that could define the next era of Spartan basketball.
