The closing stretch of the regular season brought a flurry of excitement across three sports, with girls lacrosse, baseball and softball all delivering memorable contests.
Watertown High opened the week with a commanding display in Frontier League girls lacrosse, hosting Indian River and pulling away early to secure a 19-4 victory; the team’s attack was propelled by a balanced scoring effort that saw contributions from several standout athletes.
The standout performances included Alexandra Knapp, Sophie Walsh, Julia Covey, Olivia Macutek, Maddox Morrison, Conner Carpenter, Nolan Brown, Eddie Hayden, Liam Flowers, Kayleigh Snyder, Brianna Williams, Stella Todd, Camryn Miner, and Maddyson Bernard.
In baseball, South Lewis and Watertown engaged in a high-scoring duel that swung back and forth before South Lewis emerged on top, 18-13, a game that featured a parade of offensive fireworks and clutch hits.
St. Lawrence Central capped the week with a 6-2 win over Malone in a North Atlantic Counties softball matchup, highlighted by Stella Todd’s inside-the-park home run that swung momentum in the team’s favor.
