Jesse Pruitt has accepted a dual role at George Mason University, taking on responsibilities as both Assistant Coach and Director of Basketball Operations.
His arrival follows a distinguished tenure at Cal Poly, where he guided the Mustangs to the Big West Championship semifinals for the first time in over a decade and helped the program set single‑season records for points, three‑pointers and field goals.
The Stanford Chapter
Prior to Cal Poly, Pruitt spent eight seasons at Stanford, contributing to 126 program victories and recruiting multiple top‑20 nationally ranked classes; his work there also produced six future NBA players and earned 43 Pac‑12 All‑Academic honors.
West Coast Success
Earlier in his career, he helped Santa Clara to postseason tournament titles, oversaw a 26‑12 record in the 2012‑13 season, and mentored several All‑West Coast Conference selections while presiding over a perfect graduation rate for scholarship athletes.
Pruitt’s academic background includes a 2005 sociology degree from UC Davis, and off the court his wife, Mary Jo, serves as athletic director at The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland.
