A Season of Promise
The Brick Dragons are entering the 2026 campaign with a sense of optimism after a modest 5‑5 finish a year ago. Nine starters return, giving the squad continuity while the offseason brought added depth at every position.
At quarterback, senior Weston Baumert and junior Gavin Delgado are battling for the opening snap, a competition that could set the tone for the offense. Both bring different strengths, and coach Jay Graber says the race will be one of the most watched storylines early in the season.
Running back promises to be a crowded room, with ten candidates vying for carries. Senior twin brothers Cian Foy and Rowan Foy, who earned First Team All‑Class B South honors a year ago, are expected to lead the group, while other backs such as Justin Farris, Owen Maffei, Kole Perrine and Matthew Kosza look to contribute.
The receiving corps retains junior Tyshawn Corbett as the lone returning starter, and he will be joined by a host of playmakers including Dante Sanders, Jaylen Johnson, JJ Thelisca, Romeo Cevallos, Michael Genova, Mohamed Heyaba, Paul Mess, Sebastian Porebski, Kellen Weise, Nathaniel Lloyd, Vincent Sanfillippo, Jayden Ortiz, Jaedan Murray, Michael Bolen, Angelo McCarthy, Nicholas Spina‑Munro, Daniel Pellicano, Owen Ruiz, Anthony Hansen, Ryan Scamardella, Narek Grigorian, Noah Kavanagh, Max Baumert and many more. Their speed and route diversity should stretch defenses.
On the line, Cameron Carter is the only returning starter, but the unit adds depth with players like James Hirtes, Andrew Cruz, Ryan Fullen, Chris Kimbiz, Dennis Filippone, Matt Fuller, John Prato, Thomas Dalton, Andrew Bilodeau and Scott Lloyd, all of whom are expected to provide stability in the trenches.
Defensively, the Dragons return five starters from a unit that allowed just 21.6 points per game last season. Senior Rowan Foy will anchor the outside linebacker spot after his All‑Class B South recognition, while Cian Foy returns as an inside linebacker after posting 23 tackles. Junior Tyshawn Corbett remains the sole returning starter in the secondary, and the secondary also features veterans such as Justin Farris, Owen Maffei, Kole Perrine and others.
Head coach Jay Graber, now in his third year, brings a career record of 90‑67 and a reputation for steady improvement. His staff includes assistants like Tony Durkin, Chris Blackburn, Derek DePascale, Chad Dougherty and others who help shape the team's game plan.
The schedule features a marquee matchup against division favorite Central on September 18, a game that could decide the Class B South title race. If the Dragons can execute their balanced attack and capitalize on the depth cultivated this offseason, they may be poised to contend for the championship.
