Colorado football welcomed four-star offensive tackle Dewey Young for an official visit, a clear signal that the Buffaloes are doubling down on their attempt to fortify the future of the program.
A pivotal visit
Young, ranked No. 20 among the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite, took to social media to share a positive reaction after stepping onto the Boulder campus, expressing enthusiasm about the environment and the coaching staff.
The visit comes at a time when Colorado’s offensive line recruiting has been limited since Deion Sanders arrived, with Jordan Seaton standing out as the program’s biggest prize at the position. Nevertheless, the Buffaloes are also chasing another four-star tackle who remains in his final three schools, indicating a continued focus on adding elite talent to the trenches.
Beyond Young, the roster has already secured commitments from quarterback Andre Adams, cornerback Davon Dericho and defensive lineman Kenny Fairley, while the overall 2027 class is positioned No. 57 nationally and No. 10 in the Big 12 according to Rivals.
The Buffaloes have also navigated a busy transfer portal cycle, adding 43 incoming players and losing 36, a reshaping that reflects both the urgency and the ambition as the 2026 season approaches its Sept. 3 opener at Georgia Tech.
